Program Description
Our summer schools and short courses are for students from our partner universities worldwide. They provide an opportunity to sample life at a leading UK university, located in a beautiful, lively and cultured city.
We work with your university to provide courses that suit your requirements. Our courses include classroom study as well as trips to places of local and historical interest.
- Summer schools: typically two-week courses focussing on an academic discipline.
- Short courses: one to sixteen-week courses which run throughout the year focussing on areas such as communication and intercultural awareness, as well as other bespoke courses.
All our courses can help you to strengthen your career prospects as they will help you to:
- Develop your academic, communication and language skills in English.
- Boost your confidence and enhance your transferable skills, such as working as a team in an international setting.
- Enhance your international outlook and intercultural awareness, and meet people from other countries among our diverse community of staff and students.
- Broaden your horizons and develop your way of thinking.
Academics
We've been running successful bespoke short courses for over 15 years. They last from one to 16 weeks and can include the following themes:
- A strong academic theme, such as History, Environmental Science etc.
- English language enhancement
- Intercultural awareness
- Employability and transferable skills
- Management and business skills
- Business English
- English language teacher development
- Academic and research skills
- Business, academic and leisure visits to places of interest
