Program Description:

Living in Madrid

Madrid is a city that bursts with energy, from its rich musical traditions to its late-night bar and restaurant culture. Both the largest city in Spain and its capital, Madrid is home to the Prado and many other important museums and galleries, scenic parks, concert halls, cafés and tapas bars, all of which are easily explored on foot or by Madrid’s extensive public transportation system. Despite being a city of over 3 million inhabitants, the pace of life remains relaxed. The EPA program in Madrid offers the exciting opportunity to put Spanish language skills into practice through classroom settings and professional internships. Students can explore their career interests while living and studying in one of Spain’s most diverse cities.

At the beginning of the term they participate in the Intensive Preparatory Spanish Course and then take two courses at their level of Spanish with other Spanish learners for the rest of the term. Students who test at a B2 level or above can register for courses with the native speakers upon request.

Students normally live in a rented section of family homes (a private bedroom) where bathroom and/or kitchen facilities may be shared with other students or the owners. Staying in private homes may include breakfast and one main meal per day. Independent flats are also available. Local staff will make living arrangements for the students prior to their arrival.

All courses and internships are in Spanish.

All accepted students are required to obtain a Long Term Student Visa with Multiple Entries. Please note that the Spanish government requires all applicants to appear in person at a consulate, and each consulate has slightly different regulations. More guidance will be given after acceptance.
