Program Description:

Living in London

As Europe's largest city and the capital of Great Britain, London is one of the European Union’s three largest financial and commercial hubs. London is one of the world's leading cultural and artistic centers, unrivaled for excellence and diversity of its theaters, concert halls, museums, art galleries and historical sites. Despite its size, London is a surprisingly easy city to navigate, thanks to an excellent public transportation system and a particularly polite and friendly local population. The quality of life in this densely populated urban center is greatly enhanced by the number of spacious parks and quiet squares in its center and the wide-open spaces of its outskirts. For all of these qualities, we chose London 30 years ago to be the perfect location for our first EPA program center, and we continue to place students in rewarding internships throughout this magnificent city.

All internships are unpaid. Students divide their time equally between their coursework and their internship placement. Due to UK Visa regulations, interns work a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Fall and Spring students choose 2 academic courses from over 700 offered at the University of Westminster. The course subjects reflect the main internship areas as well as cultural electives.

Students are normally housed in an apartment (“flat” in Britain) with other students from the program. Local staff will make living arrangements for the students prior to their arrival. The apartments are fully furnished and most have broadband internet access.

All courses and internships are in English.
Students who are applying for an internship in a language other than their native language may be interviewed in that language to assess their communication skills and proficiency. They will also need to supply a letter from their registrar's office to show proof of their language level to Westminster.

All students are required to obtain a UK Tier 4 General Student Visa. Students must first have a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies number, and this cannot be applied for until 90 days before the start of the program.

Other Requirements

EPA accepts applications from undergraduate students studying at universities and colleges in the United States and Canada with a 3.0 GPA. At this time we do not offer placements for graduate students or students who have recently graduated.
